Many women with ovarian cancer develop resistance to standard chemotherapy

A new clinical research study, called the PRECEDENT Study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of EC145 an investigational drug in women with ovarian cancer who develop resistance to standard platinum-based chemotherapy.  This research is being conducted by physicians in over 50 locations in the US, Canada and Europe and will include over 120 participants.

In the clinical study, participants will be treated either with Doxil®, an approved drug used to treat ovarian cancer, or with a combination of Doxil®  and EC145, the investigational drug.  In other words, all participants will receive the standard approved drug and some will also receive the investigational drug.

To participate in the PRECEDENT Study, you must be at least 18 years of age and have chemotherapy resistant ovarian cancer that has been previously treated with a platinum-based chemotherapy regimen.  Additional eligibility criteria apply.
